Registered Massage Therapist
Jay is a graduate from Trillium College and is a Registered Massage Therapist and Personal trainer. He spent 2 years at McMaster University where he was recruited to play varsity football. After an injury put him out of play, Jay spent years as a personal trainer and found a passion for healing and aiding in pain. While being able to help clients through postural correction and better movement, he realized that some people need a more direct approach for treatment which led him to adding his R.M.T. license.
Jay has dedicated himself to understanding the human body as a whole and becoming a well-rounded therapist. He prides himself on being able to treat and manage his own movements and issues effectively. This has allowed him to have a level of empathy and understanding about the healing and rehab process that his clients go through. Through his experience with training and physical therapy, he has developed the knowledge needed to treat and help people from all ages and all body types. As a former athlete, Jay understands how important it is to have a well understood prehab and rehab regimen. He is not set on one treatment method for all as he treats everybody uniquely. Jay is constantly adding to his tool belt of skills as a therapist. Adding different techniques such as; Fascial stretch therapy, Myofascial release, Cupping, I.A.S.T.M techniques, along with many courses on movement and biomechanics such as Functional patterns and FRC. With all of these tools he is able to effectively assess the issue and treat it using cutting edge modalities.
With a mixture of a clinical approach to massage therapy and functional training, we can work together towards getting the body to work and move the way it is meant too. Through the years he has developed his own treatment methods for injuries and truly believes that everyone he treats should also get the knowledge they need to help their body recover and thrive!
